Jeff White

Chief Strategy Officer

Jeff White has over 25 years of experience building and investing in early stage companies. Before co-founding Gainspeed, Jeff was President of Hatteras Networks where he was instrumental in the company’s redirection and growth prior to its merger with Overture. Prior to Hatteras, Jeff was Executive Vice President of Strategy, Sales, Marketing, and Business Development for Cognio. Jeff drove the strategic relationship with Cisco, which led to its acquisition of Cognio. Previously, Jeff held key executive leadership positions and transformational roles at Aruba Networks (IPO), Packet Engines, which was acquired by Alcatel, and FORE Systems (IPO). Jeff was also a Partner at Columbia Capital where he served as a Member of the Board of Directors or observer on six investments, including Hatteras Networks, Ocular Networks and CoManage. He has served or serves as an advisor to numerous companies.

Jeff holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Phil Winterbottom

Vice President of Engineering

Phil brings over two decades of networking technical innovation and leadership experience. Prior to Gainspeed, Phil was the Head of Product Line Optical and Metro at Ericsson where he was responsible for all aspects of the Optical Networking business. While at Ericsson, Phil also served as Head of Product line Broadband Access and CTO for the global Broadband Access business. Phil came to Ericsson through the acquisition of Entrisphere, the company that provided the foundation of Ericsson’s GPON products. Phil was the founder and CTO of Entrisphere and guided the company through infancy up to its acquisition by Ericsson.

Prior to Entrisphere, Phil was part of Bell Labs where he worked in the areas of distributed computing, converged voice and packet evolution and access networking products. Phil was made a Bell Labs Fellow in 1997 for contributions to distributed computing, the youngest Bell Labs Fellow ever.

Phil earned Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degrees at King’s College London, University of London.

Steve Bragonier

Chief Financial Officer

Steve has over 25 years of experience providing strong financial management to Silicon Valley high tech companies. For the last ten years, Steve has had his own financial consulting practice assisting start-ups establish proper financial controls and measurements, implement effective financial planning and raise capital. During this period, Steve joined two of these firms in full-time executive roles. He worked as Vice President of Finance at Telegent Systems, a fabless semiconductor business that grew from $0 to $200M in three years and was acquired by Spreadtrum. He also served as CFO at Neoteris which was acquired by Netscreen. Netscreen was subsequently acquired by Juniper, and Steve led the integration efforts during both acquisitions. Previously, Steve spent many years with Silicon Graphics, assisting in its growth from a startup to a large, public, multi-national corporation with revenues of over $4 billion. During his tenure at SGI, Steve held a variety of positions including Corporate Controller and Director of International Finance located in Geneva Switzerland. Steve started his career with Hewlett Packard.

Steve holds an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University.

Mark Stalica

Vice President of Sales

Mark is a 23-year veteran of the cable industry. Before co-founding Gainspeed, Mark was Vice President of Strategic MSO Accounts for Metaswitch Networks. Previously, Stalica held progressively senior sales roles with the Motorola Multimedia Group, for which he secured two of the company’s largest domestic Cable Modem and CMTS contracts, and was Vice President of Sales for Terayon. Stalica also served as Vice President of Sales for Entone Technologies prior to its acquisition by Harmonic and as Vice President of Sales for Alcatel-Lucent Eastern Region of MSO Sales. Stalica entered the cable industry with Scientific-Atlanta where he was a three-time recipient of the company’s Circle of Excellence Award.

Stalica earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Technology from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Ram Prasad

Vice President of Operations

Ram brings over 20 years of global operations, manufacturing and quality experience across many diverse industries. Before Gainspeed, Ram was Vice President of Operations and CFO for Purfresh where he established global manufacturing, repair and delivery facilities for electromechanical and chemical products. Prior to Purfresh, Ram served as Vice President of New Product Operations for Asyst Technologies, later acquired by Crossing Automation, where he established a streamlined NPI process to reduce volume ramp time and accelerate time-to-market. Previously, Ram was Director of Operations for Amber Networks, a telecommunications equipment firm that was acquired by Nokia. Earlier, as Vice President of Turnkey Manufacturing at Sieger Engineering, he started the new electromechanical assembly division, which was later acquired by UCT. In addition, Ram has held various executive and management roles with Applied Materials and Whessoe Varec.

Ram holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University and earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University.

M. Vijay Raman

Vice President of Technical Marketing, Systems Engineering and Services

Vijay has over 20 years of experience in the broadband networking industry. Prior to Gainspeed, Vijay was Vice President of Marketing, Product Management and Strategic Partnerships at Overture Networks, a market leader in access networking. Vijay joined Overture by way of its merger with Hatteras Networks where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Product Line Management. Previously, Vijay held a variety of leadership roles in Product Management, Technical Marketing, Field Marketing, Systems Engineering and Technical Business Development for premier equipment vendors including Aruba Networks, FORE Systems (acquired by Marconi) and Avici Systems, and service providers such as Sprint Corporation.

Vijay earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with honors from North Carolina State University and has completed post-graduate studies at the Harvard Business School.

Samir Parikh

Vice President of Product Management

Samir has more than 15 years of product management and engineering experience in the networking and telecommunications industry. Prior to Gainspeed, he was Director, Product Management for the Carrier Routing System (CRS) product line at Cisco. In this role Samir was responsible for corporate strategy for the service provider core routing market. During his tenure at Cisco Systems, he also served as Software Engineer, Product Manager and Product Line Manager in Cisco Service Provider Routing Technology Group.

Samir holds a B.S in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Ties Bos

Vice President of Engineering

Ties has more than 15 years of networking and telecommunications engineering experience. Prior to his current position, Ties was Gainspeed’s Director of Software and FPGA for nearly three years, taking the company’s Virtual CCAP from concept to fruition. Prior to Gainspeed, he served as Manager and then Director of Software for Ericsson where he led the development team for GPON in Broadband Access. Previously, Ties was a Fellow at Entrisphere.

Ties holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Twente.
